Sick
Well, almost.
I came down with some sort of bug last week which felt like a cold with added nausea, it sort of put me off the cycling and the dieting for a bit.
Friday saw a fresh weigh-in for the new competition (another 6 weeks, £10 each, winner takes all, 10 entrants) - 274lbs down from 296lbs... however, this time I didn't have shoes on and it was on a different set of scales.
I've eaten a lot this weekend (comfort eating/drinking while feeling ill) and I haven't done much exercise bar Dog Walking. Still, I'm about to set off on a 26 mile ride home, that'll help.

More riding
This could become more of a cycling blog than a weight loss blog, we'll see how it goes!
I rode yesterday and a long ride home tonight, it's Wednesday today so since Monday:
Total Mileage: 61 miles
Total Riding time: 5hrs 6mins
Not bad, I'm hoping to cycle 75 miles per week whenever possible, I should be able to manage it this week.

Maximum Speed: 34.5mph
Accumulated Distance: 17 Miles
Accumulated Ride Time : 1hr 23min
Around 14 miles (and an hour) of that was the ride home, the rest of it was getting to the bus stop etc.

New Bike Bits
I've added a couple of purchases to the bike.
The tyres on it were very knobbly off-road ones, not really ideal for the sort of riding I'm doing these days, so I swapped them for a pair of Continental Double Fighter II's. These tyres are pretty slick in the middle with grip at the edge should you need it, they are much faster than the great big knobbly ones and should make things easier on long rides.
I've also added a really decent wireless cycle computer (a Fathers Day gift), expect many updates relating to miles ridden and average speed etc coming soon!

The last Friday Weigh-in
So, the "who can lose the most weight in 6 weeks" competition at work ended today... I won!
Six weeks ago I weighed 296.0lbs and today I weighed 277.2lbs, that's 18.8lbs lost.
In the last week alone I lost 7lbs after wavering a little over the last couple of weeks. I did plenty of exercise this week and "dieted" (from Monday at least!), it seems to have done the trick.
I'm going to eat and drink a bit over this weekend, but not go mad, then we are starting another competition on Monday!
